Basket, from Lake Condah in the South Western Victoria. Baskets such as this are made from a grass reed found around damp areas known to the Kerrupjmara people as Puung’ort. These types of baskets were used to carry utensils and food. This basket is one of the older baskets in the Koorie Heritage Trust's collection and was purchased from Sotheby's Auction house in 1994. The Basket is from Lake Condah and is believed to have been made around the early 1900s.
