Welcome to our third eNews bulletin and the first for 2008. For the WIPCE secretariat, 2008 has begun with a flurry of activity with the posting of registration and accommodation information on our website. We are also preparing for the immense task of abstract selection that will be taking place over the next few months.

If you haven’t done so, please remember to submit your abstract before the 11th of February 2008 – all the information you’ll need to submit your abstract can be found on our website: www.wipce2008.com

Registration

WIPC:E 2008 Registration is now open! All the necessary information and registration forms are now available on our website. Registration entitlements include: 

  • Welcome to Country at the Aborigines Advancement League on Sunday 7th December
  • Conference Closing Celebration on Thursday evening 11th December
  • Conference sessions Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
  • Participation in the Site Inspections and Tours scheduled for 10th December
  • Morning and afternoon tea daily Monday/Tuesday/Thursday
  • Conference handbook and satchel

Accommodation

A variety of accommodation styles, from apartments and 5 star hotels to budget accommodation, have been organised for WIPC:E 2008 delegates. A listing of accommodation options and booking information is now available on the accommodation page of our website.

Abstract Submission

The call for abstracts is currently open. All the information you will require to submit your abstract is available on our website, including conference themes, modes of presentation and instructions on using the online submission form. This information can also be found in the Spanish and French sections of the website.

Important dates to remember for the Abstract Submission process are:

11th February 2008 – Close of Abstract Submissions.
All abstracts will be due by the 11th of February 2008 to ensure a fair and equitable process, as well as providing enough time for our Knowledge Committee to review and make a decision on all abstracts.

31st March 2008 – Confirmation of Acceptance.
All authors / presenters will be advised by the 31st of March 2008 as to whether their abstracts have been accepted within the program.

30th June 2008 – Full Papers Due.
Successful authors will be expected to have their full papers forwarded to the Knowledge Committee by the 30th of June for peer review and to enable publication in the conference proceedings.
