World Indigenous Peoples Conference: Education 2008

E news Edition 2 – November 2007

Welcome to the second edition of the WIPC:E 2008 eNews bulletin. We have made a great deal of progress since our last bulletin in August with the launch of our new website and the opening of Abstract Submissions. The website can be found at – www.wipce2008.com and includes information on how you can submit your abstract.

Read the articles below and find out more about the launch of the website and the Abstract Submission process.

Website Launch

On Monday the 22nd of October the official WIPC:E 2008 website was launched in a small and intimate ceremony held at the premises of our web developers (Fraynework Multimedia). The launch was attended by Dr. Mark Rose, Ms. Geraldine Atkinson and One Fire Dancer – Mr. Robert Bamblett. VAEAI and Fraynework representatives, as well as by a reporter from the Koori Mail; Australia’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander newspaper. The launch signified the culmination of much hard work to ensure we are successful in providing clear and relevant information on all aspects of the conference.

We will be updating the website regularly as we finalise other areas of the conference and will include online registration facilities, travel and accommodation options and the bid process to host WIPC:E 2011. We are currently confirming travel and accommodation options and expect to have information and booking facilities available on the site before the end of 2007.
